Privacy Policy

Overview

PetKeeper (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an iOS app developed by Kacper Kalicki. This policy explains what data the app collects, where it is stored, and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Data you enter

• Pet names, photos, species, breed, and health information (weight, body condition, energy level, temperament)
• Feeding, walking, water, and medication logs
• Vet contacts, visit history, vaccinations, and scanned documents
• Food inventory details and reorder preferences
• Sitter share configurations (permitted access, expiry dates)

Data stored by Apple

All user-entered data is stored exclusively in your private iCloud database. We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's iCloud privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Device-only data

• Onboarding draft state (stored locally until onboarding completes)
• Local notification schedules (never leave your device)
• App Group data shared between the main app and widgets (stored locally)

Usage analytics

The app collects usage data — such as which screens are viewed, which features are used, device model, and OS version — via Google Firebase Analytics (see “Third-Party Services” below). This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve it. It never includes your pet data, names, photos, health records, or anything you enter into the app. Usage events are associated with a pseudonymous identifier derived from your iCloud account so that your activity stays consistent across your devices; this identifier is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and is never used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. You can turn usage analytics off at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not use analytics data for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers
• We do not store any pet or health data on our own servers

Third-Party Services

Google Firebase Analytics

PetKeeper uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect the usage data described above. Google processes this data on our behalf. It does not receive your pet data or any content you enter into the app, and it is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

RevenueCat

PetKeeper uses RevenueCat to process in-app subscription purchases. RevenueCat receives your App Store receipt and subscription status. It does not receive your pet data.

Apple CloudKit

Pet data syncs between your devices and with family members via Apple's CloudKit. Apple acts as the data processor. Only devices signed into your iCloud account (or explicitly invited via iCloud sharing) can access your data.

Family Sharing & Sitter Access

• Family members you invite can read and log activity for your pets. Their logs are attributed to their iCloud identity (a loggedBy field on each entry).
• Sitters you invite via a Sitter Pack receive read and/or log access to specific pets until the expiry date you set. Access is revoked automatically at expiry.
• We do not control what a sitter does with data they have already viewed on their device before expiry.

Children's Privacy

PetKeeper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store because it contains no objectionable content, not because it is designed for young children.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data lives in your private iCloud database. To delete all your data:

• In the app, go to Settings → Delete All Data, or
• Delete the app from all your devices, then go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → PetKeeper → Delete Data on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
